Overview
We are currently looking for a Software Specialist to join our Customer Support Team at our Canadian headquarters, located in the heart of downtown Toronto’s medical district. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting RamSoft’s industry-leading PACS & RIS software products, and will be a key team member in maintaining our top-ranked standing in quality customer service.
This position requires that all screened applicants must have strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with a moderate level of supervision. A university degree or college diploma in a computer-related field is required.
Primary Duties
- Act as first POC (point-of-contact) during shift hours with all customers through telephone, voice messaging and e-mail communications
- Problem identification of customer issues and providing solutions by following troubleshooting guides, accessing knowledge bases and researching answers
- Assist customers with complex issues by guiding the client through corrective steps and escalating unresolved problems to management
- Partner with product development and quality assurance teams to improve product features and performance specifications
- Participate in the testing and deployment of system updates
- Update job knowledge by enrolling in ongoing career development training sessions
Required Skills
- A degree or diploma in computer science, engineering, communications, information systems, health informatics or related discipline
- New graduate with 1 year of working experience (including co-op, internships and apprenticeships)
- Experience troubleshooting software within a Windows environment - Windows Server, XP\Vista
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of relational databases
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN environments and protocols
- Working knowledge of VPNs
- Able to produce well written and detailed documentation
Desired Skills
- Understanding of DICOM
- Understanding of HL7
- Familiarity with the Medical Imaging Workflow
- Prior knowledge\experience working with medical software such as a PACS or RIS/HIS
